Many small manufacturers are facing the thought that they will have to switch to e-mobility in a few years’ time. To help them make the switch, the British company Watt Electric Vehicle is developing an e-car platform. This is an electrically powered vehicle platform on which pretty much any type of car can be built.

British company Watt Electric has developed an e-car platform. “PACES” (Passenger and commercial EV Skateboard”) is an electrically powered vehicle platform. Its substructure consists of a bonded aluminum structure with extruded profiles that interlock and connect. The advantage of this structure is that it can be used in any size and shape – from sports cars to buses. Front- and rear-wheel drive as well as all-wheel drive are possible, he said.

“Over the last two years, we have gone through a full development process and are now ready for the market,” says Neil Yates, founder and owner of the company.

An illustration of the platform is provided by the electric coupe built with it, which emulates the classic Porsche 356 A. Externally, it is very similar to the car developed in 1955, however, according to Watt, there are very many changes in the interior as well as exterior. A 40-kWh-battery offers a range of up to 370 kilometers. In addition, the weight of less than one ton and a 50:50 weight distribution ensure stable handling. The company plans to announce further information in the coming weeks.
